Parent Council/Forum
Overview
The Parent Council (formerly Parent Forum) is a body of parents, run by parents with the support of the school, whose purpose is to give parents an opportunity to collectively share ideas and put forward suggestions for school improvement. The Council meets around 3 times per year, shortly after each half term.
Latest News
From September 2017, we will be trialling a new Parent Council to replace the previous Parents Forum. The Parent Council will consist of a minimum of 2 parent volunteers from each year group from years 7 to 11, who will commit to attending 3 meetings per year. Before each meeting, they will contact their year group via email to ask for suggestions and feedback on areas of school policy.
The main reason for the change of format is to try and ensure minimum representation from each year group across the school, however, all parents and carers will still be welcome to attend in person at the meeting.
Parents will be invited via email to volunteer as Parent Council reps for the following year, at the end of each school year in July.
Please note the Council is not a channel for individual complaints, concerns or issues– these should be raised in the usual way through your class/subject teacher or head of year/subject leader.
You are welcome to feedback on any topic relating to school policy and practices. We are looking for constructive feedback, with suggestions for improvements, new ideas. It also provides and opportunity to highlight things that have worked well.
