Overview
Graphics encourages students to explore visual communication. Through engaging, hands-on projects, they develop essential skills in illustration, typography, branding and design. Combining practical techniques with contextual understanding, students apply design principles to create unique and impactful graphic pieces. This subject cultivates creativity, critical thinking, and technical expertise, preparing students for further study and careers in the creative and digital industries.
Facilities
Our Graphics rooms are modern well-equipped spaces where students can develop their creativity and digital design skills. With dedicated workstations and a range of traditional and digital tools. The rooms provide ample resources for exploring illustration, typography, branding, and visual communication.
Key Stage 3
KS3 Graphics lessons are once per fortnight and delivered throughout the year. Each year group completes a separate stand alone project. The Department uses GCSE objectives for consistency of assessment language as students move through the curriculum at KS3. Skills and knowledge are consistently revisited throughout with incremental challenges and control of materials, processes and equipment added.
